Perf, Cut, Score, Fold
The Vandercook proof press now celebrates 100 remarkable years facilitating relief-printed text, books, and prints. It also offers opportunities to score, cut, and perforate paper sheets. This workshop explores inventive means of incorporating scored, perforated, and die-cut components into edition prints or books to enable pop-ups, fold-outs, shaped pages, or detachable parts. We will study both commercial and fine art examples and then develop individual projects that combine printing with the interactive, expressive, and sculptural possibilities of paper-engineering techniques.
